Facebook Tip #1 – Linking other social sites into Facebook

I have had people ask how I am able to get my Flickr or my website blog to show in my Facebook updates…well this is how:

1st go to your Facebook profile page and under the section where you type your status you will see a Options link. Click on it.

2nd you click on the settings link.

Then it opens up a section as seen below. You can pick from the available sites to bring those into your facebook updates. For example if I add photos to my Flickr as public photos they will show in my facebook status. Same goes for my blog or RSS updates. You can unfortunately only have one Blog site to update. These are just other great ways to link all of your social networking together.

Exposure Triangle

To get that perfect exposure or look you are going for its always good to keep in mind the exposure triangle. I try to shoot all my photos in Manual mode so I have full control over my Exposure, Aperture, ISO.  The triangle below explains what each of the 3 settings does:

Aperture: controls the area over which light can enter your camera
Shutter speed: controls the duration of the exposure
ISO speed: controls the sensitivity of your camera’s sensor to a given amount of light

Random Thoughts for the Day

1. I think part of a best friend’s job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.

2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you’re wrong.

3. I totally take back all those times I didn’t want to nap when I was younger.

4. There is great need for a sarcasm font.

5. How the heck are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?

6. Was learning cursive really necessary?

7. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on #5. I’m pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.

8. I can’t remember the last time I wasn’t at least kind of tired.

9. Bad decisions make good stories.

10. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren’t going to do anything productive for the rest of the day.

11. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I don’t want to have to restart my collection…again.

12. I’m always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-page research paper that I swear I did not make any changes to.

13. “Do not machine wash or tumble dry” means I will never wash this — ever.

14. I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello? Darn it!), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voicemail. What’d you do after I didn’t answer? Drop the phone and run away?

15. I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste.

16. I keep some people’s phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.

17. My 4-year old son asked me in the car the other day “Dad what would happen if you ran over a ninja?” How the heck do I respond to that?

18. I think the freezer deserves a light as well.

19. I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Lites than Kay.

Fruit Roll-ups

So we were grocery shopping this weekend and I came across one of my favorite pastime lunch snacks…The Fruit Roll-up. These things are addicting, so be careful and proceed with caution before going out and getting some yourself! The one thing that I wish I could change about this crazy little snack is the LOUD crackly plastic paper they come attached to. Gosh I think everyone in my office heard me ripping off my roll-up off that plastic sheet. Why not make it wax paper or something that wouldn’t be as loud. Anyways…eat your fruit! 🙂

Pineapple Carrot Smoothie

This smoothie happens to be the one I make the most. I love the pineapple flavor, that covers all the other flavors of anything you might want to add (like prune juice).

6 baby carrots chopped

6 pineapple chuncks

1 cup of pineapple juice or 1/2 prune 1/2 pineapple (depends on your desired result;)

1 tsp of honey

1 handful of crushed ice

1 tbsp of Flax seed or 1 tbsp of Wheat bran

Blend these ingredients in blender for about 30 seconds to 1 minute, and your good to go!!!

Smoothies

Ok, so lately I have had a little obsession with making smoothie drinks. I have discovered that making a smoothie is a great way to get my fruits and veggies in a way that I will actually like. For example this morning I made up my own little concoction called…Wide Awake (I just made that up)
So, you take a blender, or we have the cool little magic bullet blender thing either will work.
You just add the following ingredients into the blender and drink up…Serves 1 person.
1/2 cup prune juice
1/2 cup pineapple juice
2 tbs of cranberry juice
1/2 cup of carrots chopped in chunks (I prefer baby carrots)
Half of apple chopped up in chunks

That’s all for this drink. Its a good pick-me-up in the morning! I will post my other smoothie drink ideas as I make them.
